Dog Walker FAQ — West Palm Beach FL 33409 | West Palm Dog Walker

Question 1

How do I book a dog walker in West Palm Beach?

Accepted Answer

The easiest way is to fill out our contact form at westpalmdogwalker.com/contact. Tell us your dog's name, the service you're interested in, and your preferred schedule. We serve zip code 33409 and a 5-mile radius — we'll follow up within a few hours to confirm availability and set up a free meet-and-greet before the first visit.

Question 2

Do you offer a meet-and-greet before the first visit?

Accepted Answer

Yes — always. We never show up to walk or sit a dog we haven't met. The meet-and-greet is free, takes about 20–30 minutes, and gives us a chance to learn your dog's personality, routine, and any quirks. It also lets your dog get comfortable with us before we're alone together in your West Palm Beach home or neighborhood.

Question 3

How far in advance do I need to book?

Accepted Answer

For regular recurring walks in West Palm Beach, we ask for at least 48 hours' notice to get you on the schedule. For dog sitting and overnight stays, we recommend booking at least one week ahead, especially around holidays. For training sessions in Palm Beach County, we typically schedule a week or two out depending on availability.

Question 4

Can I book a one-time walk or do I need a recurring schedule?

Accepted Answer

Both are welcome. We work with West Palm Beach clients who need daily walks as well as those who just need occasional coverage. That said, dogs tend to thrive on routine, so many clients in 33409 find a regular schedule works best for their pup.

Question 5

What areas of West Palm Beach do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve zip code 33409 and a 5-mile radius, covering neighborhoods including Palm Beach Lakes, Mangonia Park, Westgate, Haverhill, Belvedere Homes, and surrounding West Palm Beach communities in Palm Beach County. Not sure if you're in our range? Send us your address and we'll confirm.

Question 6

Do you serve areas outside the 5-mile radius of 33409?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, depending on our schedule and the distance. Reach out and ask — we'll do our best to accommodate if we can. We don't want geography to get in the way of a great match for your Palm Beach County pup.

Question 7

Are you the same team as Miami Dog Walking Service?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We operated as Miami Dog Walking Service for years before relocating to West Palm Beach, FL. We brought the same team, the same standards, and the same love for dogs with us to Palm Beach County. Many of our longtime Miami clients followed us north — and we're proud of that.

Question 8

Are your West Palm Beach dog walkers background-checked?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every member of our West Palm Beach team undergoes a thorough background check before working with any client's dog. We also carry pet business insurance and are bonded, so you're covered in the unlikely event something goes wrong.

Question 9

What happens if my dog gets injured during a walk?

Accepted Answer

Our walkers are pet first-aid and CPR certified. If your dog is injured on a West Palm Beach walk, we administer first aid immediately, contact you right away, and take your dog to your designated vet if needed. We carry your emergency contact and vet information on every visit.

Question 10

Do you walk multiple dogs at the same time?

Accepted Answer

We keep group walks small — no more than three dogs at once, and only dogs we know are compatible. If your dog does better solo on West Palm Beach streets, just let us know and we'll schedule individual walks. Your dog's comfort always comes first.

Question 11

My dog is reactive or anxious. Can you still help?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We have experience with reactive, anxious, and high-energy dogs throughout West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County. During the meet-and-greet we'll assess your dog's temperament and discuss the best approach. For dogs with significant reactivity, we may recommend pairing walking with a training session to build confidence on leash.

Question 12

What vaccinations does my dog need?

Accepted Answer

We require all dogs to be current on rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccinations. Please have your vet records ready at the meet-and-greet. This protects your dog, our walkers, and every other dog we work with in the 33409 area.

Question 13

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a walk or sitting session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged 50% of the service fee. For overnight sitting, we ask for 48 hours' notice. We understand life happens — just communicate with us and we'll work it out.

Question 14

What if I need to cancel last minute due to an emergency?

Accepted Answer

Emergencies happen and we get it. If something unexpected comes up, contact us as soon as possible. We handle these situations case by case and will always try to be flexible. We're your West Palm Beach neighbors — not a corporation.

Question 15

Do you work on holidays?

Accepted Answer

We do offer holiday coverage in West Palm Beach, though availability is limited and books up quickly. Holiday visits may carry a small surcharge. We recommend booking holiday care as early as possible — especially around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's in Palm Beach County.

Question 16

What training methods does your West Palm Beach dog trainer use?

Accepted Answer

We use exclusively positive reinforcement methods — treats, praise, and play. We never use punishment, prong collars, shock collars, or any aversive tools. Positive reinforcement is not only more humane, it's more effective and builds a stronger bond between you and your dog anywhere in Palm Beach County.

Question 17

What does a dog training session in West Palm Beach cover?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are tailored to your dog's needs and your goals. Common focus areas include leash manners, basic obedience (sit, stay, come, down), recall, impulse control, and reducing reactivity or anxiety. We'll discuss your priorities at the intro session and build a plan from there — whether you're in 33409 or nearby.

Question 18

Should I be present during training sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes, whenever possible. Training works best when you're involved — you learn the cues and techniques alongside your dog so you can reinforce them between sessions. Consistency at home in West Palm Beach is what makes the difference. We'll always send you a session summary with homework.

Question 19

How many sessions will my dog need?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your goals and your dog's starting point. Many West Palm Beach dogs show noticeable improvement after just 2–3 sessions. Our 5-session package is the most popular choice in Palm Beach County and covers most foundational skills. For complex behavioral issues, the intensive program may be a better fit — we'll give you an honest assessment at the intro session.
